More information and resources have been added to the website on Pace of Play.
Understanding Pace of Play is the first step in making improvements. Although issues like Course Design and Maintenance are not in our control, each of us can make changes that can lead to faster play for us, our group and for everyone on the course.
Unfortunately, one individual or foursome can slow everyone down. So, we need everyone to think how we each can improve. Then we can help others.

The biggest problem that I have seen to slow down play is when people don’t play ready golf.I have seen groups that will watch one player hit there ball and then get in there cart and drive 20 ft and get out and hit the next ball. They need to go to there ball and get ready to hit, as long as they are not between the other player and the hole.
Consider golf as “seconds of action” separated by “minutes of moving to the action”.
It takes only seconds to get your club, take a practice swing, set-up and hit the ball. (Have you ever timed yourself or your partners? Try it and see what you get!). If everyone in your group saved only 10 seconds per stroke, you could finish a round 20 minutes faster.
It takes minutes to move from one shot to the next, even with a cart. Far more time is involved “away” from your ball. Anything we can do to reduce the time between each players’ shot is pure gold.
Ready Golf is all about minimizing the “dead” time.
