Time is running out! December 31 deadline!
As of Dec 10, about 2/3 of members have renewed their membership for 2019. SMART!
Each Division 1-5 has about 50 members who have not yet renewed. They really must renew before January 1 to :
- Guarantee their spot in the same Division
- Get the earliest registration for Special Events and possibly Metro Plus
- Be able to register as a team for Special Events
- Get new announcements for 2019
Make sure your playing partners are signed up now. Don’t want any surprises in January. For more information on signups – CLICK HERE
Charles, Division 9 might – nine hole tournaments each Wednesday – might be an option to consider. Only $20 for Div 9 membership. Playing opportunities from Mid March to Mid November. Play as much or as little as you wish.
Otherwise, we hate to miss you but wish you well for the future.
Good question John. In past years we generally used division numbers – 4 digits starting with the first number equaling the division number. Example 1000 to 1999 was Division 1. 5000 to 5999 was Division 5. Simple, easy. But simple solutions don’t work forever.
Division numbers were not unique to members – If you played in two divisions you had two numbers. With 10 to 15% turnover each year we had started “recycling numbers”. Our archived history back to 2011 will in some cases have different people identified by the same number. We were doubling up on some database information – a member could be listed twice. Further complicated when one their names, phone numbers, emails could be slightly different. We also wanted better accounting systems that really needed unique member identification. Assigning numbers to a new member required looking back over several years of data for “empty or unused numbers” – time consuming when adding 100 to 200 members annually.
So….. Starting this year, new members will be automatically, computer assigned a number starting with 6000. The number won’t have any reference to the Division. Current members with old member id (1000 to 5999) will transfer to the new division using their old number – don’t have to remember a new one. Current members who ADD a second division will receive a NEW number (over 6000) just like a new member.
We chose to keep current numbers for current members rather than issue all new member numbers. Too much confusion, especially when some of our members can’t remember 4 digits for their scorecard.
This gives us about 4000 new empty. unused numbers. Enough to last until our next change in accounting and payment systems.
