On Friday, July 5’th at Deer Creek Golf Club all 5 divisions will participate in a “Division Challenge”. Each division will be represented by 28 golfers from their respective division for bragging rights and prize money. Price of $45.00 per golfer includes golf, lunch, skins, and all prize money. There will be at least 84 winners if the field is full.

We started calculating Special Events Handicaps and Team Handicaps to 2 decimal places in order to eliminate ties. It was decided by the Special Events committee that any ties would be broken by extending the handicaps to more than 2 decimal places until the tie was broken.

We had our first tie in this event. The calculations for the two teams only had to go to 3 decimal places to break the tie.

Congratulations to all winners in the Ryder Cup event. We finally had a beautiful day to play golf and the course was in excellent condition.

Due to the rain last week the handicaps were calculated using the 25 & 26 April weekly tournament results.

This Special Event is a 2-Man team event. The Course Handicaps were calculated using the Gateway National GL course Slopes & Ratings and your Tee selection. The Special Event Handicaps were calculated by taking 35% of the lowest handicap team player and 15% of the highest handicap team player. The Team Handicap is the sum of the two Special Event Handicaps. Click here to see an explanation of the Special Events Handicap Calculations.

The 2019 Ryder Cup Special Event will be held at Gateway National GL on Tuesday, 14 May 2019. It is a 7:30 am Shotgun Start. Lunch will be served. Registration will start at 6:30 am. One score per 2-Man Team will be recorded on the official scorecard. All Metro Seniors Rules apply. Four flights will be established based on the Team Handicaps.
