Special Event Tournaments

Special Events – Shotgun starts at 7:30, 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00 AM 

Special Event on-line sign-up will open at 6:00 PM on the Wednesday approximately 30 days prior to the event. See schedule for dates.

Special Event Tournaments have a participant limit of 120 players.  Register and pay early as most events fill up fast. You may be wait listed.  Wait listed players will move to the Entry List as we get cancellations. All Special Events Tournaments will play from the same designated tee box for each event. See Tee & CTP link below.

Each Special Event Tournament Leader(s) will manage that specific tournament. The volunteer team will handle the final event organization including pairing teams, tee times, scoring, and prize awards.

PLEASE VOLUNTEER – each tournament will need a few volunteers to handle registration and scoring. Please contact the Tournament Leader to offer your help.

Special Events Volunteer Teams

We are very thankful for our volunteer Tournament Leaders. Metro Seniors has always been a volunteer run organization. Without volunteers we would not be able to continue. Our League continues to evolve toward on-line and electronic communication and management. As a result, for our leadership roles; President, VP, Committee Chairs, Division VPs, and Tournament Leaders, we need volunteers who are computer and Excel capable. The Special Events Committee needs two tech capable event leaders for each event, so we are fully staffed for 2025. The time commitment to run an event is not large. You are busy with emails a few weeks before the event and may have to commit a couple hours a day the week before the event. If you are interested, please contact Dennis Black at dbbegl@gmail.com.

Event Leaders build a volunteer team to work at the golf course for registration and then to collect and double check all score cards. Leaders manage the Confirm & Wait Lists and coordinate with the Golf Course a couple of weeks before and through the tournament to make sure everything is tracking.

Todd Weis manages the on-line sign up, fee collections, Preliminary Rosters, pairings, handicaps, score cards and results.
